Young Readers Book Club
Young Readers Book Club is an engaging small-group enrichment programme designed to help young learners discover great stories, share their ideas and develop a genuine love of reading.
Through carefully selected, age-appropriate books and extracts, learners explore a variety of characters, settings, themes and genres while enjoying the social experience of reading and discussing books with others.
The club goes beyond basic comprehension. Learners are encouraged to think about what they read, ask questions, make predictions, explore characters’ choices and share their own interpretations. Discussions help children see that different readers can respond to the same story in different ways.

Sessions are delivered live online in small groups, creating a friendly and interactive environment where reading becomes a shared experience rather than an individual task.
Learners may explore adventure, mystery, fantasy, humour, friendship and family stories, poetry and engaging non-fiction, with selections adapted to the age and reading level of the group.
Activities can include book discussions, predictions, character investigations, reading challenges, quizzes, creative responses and opportunities to recommend books to one another. Learners may also explore interesting vocabulary, memorable passages and the techniques authors use to bring stories to life.
The emphasis is on encouraging thoughtful conversation and enjoyment, rather than turning every book into a formal English lesson. Learners have space to develop their own opinions, ask questions and discover which kinds of books excite them as readers.
For children who already love books, the club provides an opportunity to explore literature more deeply and share that enthusiasm with others. For more reluctant readers, the social and interactive nature of the club can help make reading feel more accessible, purposeful and enjoyable.
