English Reading & Writing – 1:1 Personalised Learning

Strengthen reading, develop clearer writing and build confidence expressing ideas in English.

English Reading & Writing – 1:1 Personalised Learning provides focused, individual support for learners who want to become stronger readers, clearer writers and more confident users of English.

Lessons are tailored to the learner’s current English level, age, strengths and individual goals. This makes the course suitable for learners who need additional support with literacy in English, including international learners studying in an English-medium environment.

Reading and writing are developed together. Through carefully selected texts and activities, learners strengthen their ability to understand what they read, identify important information, make inferences, explore vocabulary and think more deeply about meaning.

Writing lessons help learners move from ideas to well-structured written communication. Depending on their level, this may include developing sentences and paragraphs, organising ideas, expanding vocabulary, improving grammar and punctuation, and producing increasingly detailed and purposeful pieces of writing.

Lessons are delivered live online, 1:1 with an experienced teacher, allowing teaching to respond directly to the learner’s needs. Reading material and writing tasks can be selected at an appropriate level and adjusted as the learner progresses.

Where appropriate, learners can work with stories, articles, non-fiction texts, extracts and other engaging reading material. Writing activities may include creative pieces, descriptions, responses to reading, paragraphs, longer compositions and practical forms of written communication.

Teachers can provide detailed feedback on written work, helping learners understand what they are doing well, where improvements are needed and how to make those improvements independently.

For international learners, lessons can also support the literacy demands of an English-medium school environment, helping them understand written instructions, access classroom texts and communicate their knowledge more effectively in writing.

The course can complement the learner’s schoolwork while remaining distinct from curriculum-specific English tuition. Its focus is on building the underlying English reading and writing skills learners need to communicate successfully and continue progressing.
