Lower Secondary Science – 1:1 Personalised Learning helps learners deepen their understanding of science, develop scientific thinking and build confidence through individual online lessons tailored to their current level, needs and learning goals.
Lessons develop knowledge across the three core sciences — Biology, Chemistry and Physics — while helping learners make connections between scientific ideas and the world around them. Topics may include cells and living systems, ecosystems, matter and materials, chemical reactions, forces and motion, energy, electricity, waves, Earth and space.
Alongside subject knowledge, learners develop important scientific enquiry skills, including forming questions and hypotheses, identifying variables, interpreting results, analysing data, evaluating evidence and drawing conclusions.
Rather than simply memorising scientific facts, learners are encouraged to understand how and why scientific processes occur, explain ideas using appropriate scientific vocabulary and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar situations.
Lessons are delivered live online, 1:1 with an experienced teacher, allowing teaching to focus on the learner's individual strengths and areas for development. Concepts can be explained carefully, misconceptions addressed as they arise and additional challenge introduced when appropriate.
Lessons may incorporate diagrams, simulations, demonstrations, data analysis and safe practical activities where appropriate. Teaching can also complement the learner's school curriculum, consolidate difficult topics or extend learning beyond what is currently being studied.
There is no fixed starting point. The programme can be adapted to the learner's curriculum and educational context, with learning priorities adjusted over time as their knowledge, skills and confidence develop.
