AS & A Level Mathematics – 1:1 Personalised Learning

Deepen mathematical understanding, master advanced techniques and build confidence for AS & A Level success.

AS & A Level Mathematics – 1:1 Personalised Learning provides focused, individual support for learners studying advanced mathematics at AS or A Level. Lessons are tailored to the learner’s current level, examination specification, strengths and areas for development, helping them deepen mathematical understanding, master advanced techniques and prepare confidently for assessments and examinations.

Teaching can support ongoing school or college study, address gaps in understanding, strengthen challenging topics or provide structured revision and examination preparation. Rather than focusing only on procedures, learners are encouraged to understand the mathematical principles behind the methods they use and apply them confidently to unfamiliar and multi-step problems.

Depending on the learner’s course and specification, areas of study may include pure mathematics, algebra, functions, coordinate geometry, sequences and series, trigonometry, exponentials and logarithms, differentiation, integration, numerical methods, statistics and mechanics.

What learners can develop

  1. Deeper understanding of advanced mathematical concepts
  2. Greater fluency with algebra, functions and mathematical notation
  3. Confidence with trigonometry, exponentials and logarithms
  4. Stronger understanding of differentiation and integration
  5. Improved skills in statistics and/or mechanics where required
  6. More rigorous mathematical reasoning and problem-solving
  7. Greater accuracy when tackling complex, multi-stage questions
  8. Confidence selecting and applying appropriate mathematical methods
  9. Stronger examination technique and time management
  10. Experience applying knowledge through exam-style questions and past papers

Lessons are delivered live online, 1:1 with an experienced teacher, allowing teaching to respond closely to the learner’s individual needs. Difficult concepts can be explored in depth, misconceptions addressed as they arise and additional challenge introduced where appropriate.

As examinations approach, lessons can incorporate targeted revision, exam-style questions and past-paper practice, with feedback used to identify recurring errors and prioritise areas for further development.

Teaching can be adapted to the learner’s specific AS or A Level Mathematics specification, where appropriate, rather than following one fixed programme for every learner.
