14–16 Christian Studies: Scripture, Theology & Ethics – 1:1 Personalised Learning is designed for learners aged approximately 14–16 who are ready to explore Christianity with greater depth, maturity and critical engagement.
At this stage, learners move beyond foundational knowledge to examine biblical texts, Christian theology and ethical questions in greater detail. Lessons encourage learners to understand what Christians believe, explore the biblical and theological foundations of those beliefs, and consider how Christian perspectives can be applied to questions facing individuals and society today.
Learners may study key themes across the Old and New Testaments, considering the historical and literary context of biblical passages and developing greater confidence interpreting Scripture. Topics can include creation, covenant, prophecy, the person and teachings of Jesus, the death and resurrection of Christ, salvation, the Holy Spirit, the Church and Christian hope.
Theology can introduce learners to important Christian beliefs such as the nature of God, the Trinity, humanity, sin, grace, salvation, revelation, incarnation, resurrection and life after death. Learners are encouraged to understand how these ideas connect rather than viewing Christian doctrines as isolated facts.
Christian ethics forms another important part of the course. Learners can explore how Scripture, Christian teaching, conscience, reason and different Christian traditions may inform responses to moral questions. Depending on the learner's interests and goals, discussions may consider topics such as justice, poverty, relationships, forgiveness, stewardship, human dignity, equality, war and peace, medical ethics, technology and care for the environment.

Lessons are delivered live online, 1:1 with an experienced teacher, allowing the depth, pace and content to be adapted to the learner's existing knowledge, interests and goals.
Where appropriate, lessons can incorporate close reading of Scripture, historical and cultural context, theological discussion, comparison of Christian perspectives, ethical case studies, structured argument and extended written responses.
The course is suitable both for learners pursuing Christian Studies for personal academic enrichment and for those who want to develop a more informed and thoughtful understanding of their Christian faith.
It also provides a natural progression from Lower Secondary Christian Studies: Bible, Belief & Christian Life and prepares learners for more advanced study of biblical studies, theology, philosophy, ethics and religious studies.
